Skymu Design Decisions and Choices

Use Skymu enough, and you may notice it looks a bit different from the version of Skype it tries to replicate. This is because of two factors, functionality-oriented and choice-based design decisions.

Functionality-oriented design

This covers both design bug-fixing, improvement of existing assets, and necessary changes made to accommodate the differing services Skymu provides access to. Examples include the updated loading throbber, which now runs at 60fps, and the changes in the login box to be Windows-accurate.

Choice-based

There was some variance of design between major Skype versions; Skype 5.0, for example, looks radically different from Skype 5.11. In cases where there is ambiguity between two differing designs, the Skymu developers either try to emulate a consistent minor version or make their own choices.
